About

I am one developer in Dublin 12 who builds working systems for small businesses.

BuildBox is me. There is no team page because there is no team — when you email, I read it; when something breaks at an awkward hour, I am the one who fixes it.

I have spent most of my working life on the unglamorous end of software: booking and scheduling platforms, back-office web applications, Android apps for people who are out in a van rather than at a desk, dashboards that replace a weekly spreadsheet ritual, and the integrations that quietly hold all of it together. It is not fashionable work. It is the work that decides whether a business runs smoothly on a Monday.

Working with one person has an obvious trade-off, and I would rather name it than let you find it. I take on fewer projects than an agency, so there is sometimes a wait. In exchange, nothing is lost in a handover, no one is learning your business on your budget, and the person who wrote the code is still the person answering the phone about it in two years.

If a project is too large for one person, or genuinely needs a specialism I do not have, I will tell you in the first conversation rather than three months in.

Work I take on

  • Fixed-scope build projects
  • Ongoing support and small changes
  • Taking over an existing system
  • Short advisory engagements
  • Not: staff augmentation or day-rate contracting
